Garden Club Planting

This week in Garden Club we have been getting our hands dirty planting Crocuses in the school grounds. Wheatcroft were lucky enough to have a visit from the Rotary club , telling us lots of information about the disease Polio. To raise awareness they gave us lots of purple Crocus bulbs to plant around school. Garden Club were up for the challenge! We learnt lots about how to plant a bulb properly! We needed to dig a hole, about half the depth of our trowel, and then we looked carefully at our bulbs to see where the roots would grown from, and then planted them with to roots facing down. Thankfully we’ve planted them at a time of year where there is a potential for lots of rainy weather. We are looking forward to watching our flowers grow!
