KS1 Fire of London and Fire Safety Talk

Our topic for this term is the Great Fire of London and we have been very excited to take part in recreating our very own ‘Great Fire of Wheatcroft’. The children made their own Tudor houses using cardboard boxes. KS1 gathered in the lower forest school area and used the Tudor houses to make a Tudor town. Mr Tognarelli very kindly helped us re-create the fire and discussed what would happened in 1666. Mrs Boylan has been teaching the children the song ‘London’s burning’ and the children performed this as the Tudor town was being burnt.

We also had the Fire brigade come into visit us to talk about fire safety. It was very exciting and we got look inside the Fire engine and created our own information posters about how to stay safe when there is a fire.
