Year 6 Queen Mary Science Trip

On Friday 28th April, 10 Year 6 children were lucky enough to be invited to Queen Mary, University of London by Dr Tina Chowdry, a scientist who works in bioengineering. This is a relatively new area of science and combines engineering, physics, chemistry and biology. A recent project the team have been working on is tissue which can replace cartilage in a knee to help people with arthritis. We were given a tour of the new labs at the site, took part in experiments ourselves and enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Campus café. Thank you very much to Dr Chowdry and her team, as well as Mr Skinner for driving us.
