Nursery Admissions

For Nursery admissions 2018-2019 you need to apply directly via school.

The Nursery at Wheatcroft usually takes around 30 children in the morning session (8:45am-11:45am) and 20 in the afternoon (12:30pm-3:30pm), although this does depend on circumstances. It is housed in a bright, purpose built area attached to the main school and with its own outside area. The children also regularly have lessons in our Forest School. For more information please read our Nursery Admissions Policy (below).

Nursery admission 2018-19 for children born between 01/09/2014 to 31/08/2015

The nursery admissions process is changing. For Nursery admissions 2018-2019 you now need to apply directly via school. Please click here for our online application form. If you are not able to access this, please ask the office for a paper form. The timeline below gives the dates for the various stages of the application process.

If you would like to visit before you apply, we are now booking visits on Thursday 18th January, Tuesday 30th January and Tuesday 20th February. Please contact the school admin office for an appointment.

We normally offer 15 hours per week which will consist of a mix of morning and afternoon sessions. This gives some flexibility to join two three hour sessions with an additional optional lunch club. We will also be offering some places for 30 hours on the Government free childcare scheme (https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/). Places will be offered based on the criteria in the Nursery Admissions Policy. Session allocations are made following acceptance of all places offered. We can not guarantee at this stage that we can offer everyone that applies either the 15 hours or 30 hours childcare if eligible but we will attempt to meet your needs. We have a single intake with all children starting in September.

Please note that a place in the Nursery does not guarantee a place in Reception.
