April 2018 in Year 3

April has flown by as all the children enjoyed a well-earned break for the Easter holidays. When they came back we shared our special day’s homework and spent a couple of days improving our writing to produce some lovely recounts in our English books.

We have since begun our new topic, The Romans! We shared our ideas to create a fact wall for our display which you can see in the doorway to the classroom. We have been learning all about the expansion of Rome and the impact Romans had on British people. This has led to some wonderful re-enactments on the field, in the beautiful weather of course.

We have also been looking at Fantastic Mr Fox and will create our own versions of the story. For now, we have made story maps of the original story which you can see here. This is going to give us a plan for when we write our own story.
