June 2018 in Year 3

This has been a very hot June, and here in year 3 we have been taking full advantage of the weather.

We have had a very busy months, with lots of things happening in our class. We started off with our Heartstart Training, learning about chocking and bleeding. Although we were unsure at times, we now all know what to do if we see someone who is injured. We also got to take home some lovely certificates.

As you all know, it was also our class assembly this month. We really enjoyed thinking about what we have enjoyed most this term and really hope you enjoyed our hard work. We put it all together ourselves, from the script to the drama. It was also nice learning some sign language to go alongside our Romans songs. We particularly enjoyed the action for party!

We have also had a very exciting month creating our own pasta recipes. We are really looking forward to making our pasta, with your help. We even got to taste some of the raw ingredients, we think we will prefer them cooked!

You can also see us here learning about time. We were learning how to read time accurately and created our own time investigations. We went outside in PE to test out our ideas to see how long they would take. Here are some of our investigation questions:

  • How many laps could you do in 5 mins?
  • How long would it take you to jump over the line 10 times?
  • What is the fastest lap you can do?
