April 2017 in Year 3/4

This term is already underway and flying.  We lay down to act out how fossils are formed in mud which turns into rock, and forms a mould for minerals to solidify in. We have been examining and sketching real fossils, researching and creating newspaper reports on Mary Anning’s great first Ichthyosaur discovery, and investigating associative and distributive laws of multiplication! It has been great fun, some of us have been using cuisinaire rods to prove our statements. Many of us have decided to become palaeontologists, or geologists when we grow up!
