June 2018 in Year 3/4

During our investigations into sound we proved that sound vibrations travel through solids. We hit a tuning fork and then put it against the table. We heard the sound through the air and through the solid table. We also made string telephones and explored how they worked best. This was when the sound was free to travel along the string.

In Heart Start session we learned how to stop severe bleeding by applying pressure and elevating the wound. We also practiced back slaps and abdominal thrusts (using the choking vest) to help someone who is choking. We hope not to have to use these skills we know!

We also had a go at Italian cooking. We researched and then made pasta and a tomato pasta sauce. We especially enjoyed the tasting part!
