June 2018 in Year 5

What a busy month! Although we’ve been getting ready for our production, we have still been working hard. In English, our focus has been Street Child and we have written diary entries in role as different characters. This allowed us to really understand a character’s motivation and why they may have acted like they did.

In Science, we have continued our work on solutions by growing copper sulphate crystals. We mixed dissolved copper suphate powder until saturation point (where no more copper sulphate could be dissolved) and then evaporated the water off to make crystals – beautiful!

We enjoyed entering the PTFA’s art competition to design a front cover for the Summer Family Festival; congratulations to Charlotte for being the school winner.

Finally, we have also completed our playleading and are looking forward to showing off our skills on the playground soon.
