April 2017 in Year 6

To complement our ‘It’s all Greek to me!’ topic, we have been looking at the Adventures of Odysseus by Hugh Lupton, an adapted version of Homer’s Odyssey. We have been thinking about poor Queen Penelope, who has been without a husband for nineteen years as her husband has been off to fight in the Trojan War and then been through more than a few adventures since! We considered the effect that the absence of a king would have upon Ithaca and wrote newspaper articles to show this, trying to show different levels of formality by including quotes from different representatives.
