Welcome back to Year 6! Although we haven’t been back for very long before this update, we have still crammed a lot in. We are very proud of the fabulous holiday homework produiced by a class; a selection is up on our topic display and this will be added to as the term progresses. We have begun our new English topic by looking at ‘The Adventures of Odysseus’ by Hugh Lupton and one of our first pieces of writing was to write a news article about the chaos Queen Penelope was facing at the palace as her husband has been missing for a number of years.
In Maths, as the posters show, we have been ‘getting circular’! We have used physical materials such as string and squared paper to check our maths using pi when finding the area and circumference of a circle.
In Art and D&T, our Kensuke textile pieces are finally finished and we are proud to display them in class. Our next topic is containers and we have practised drawing a selection of these that have caught out eye.
