December always starts with Decorations Day. We enjoyed mixing with our friends from across the school to decorate the school with a winter and Christmas theme. Our School Councillors enjoyed making their Christingle oranges for our service. Our science topic, light, continued with us making colour wheels and looking at coloured filters. In PE, we have been doing gymnastics and Outdoor problem solving – our forward rolls are coming along brilliantly and we are able to work as a team. In English, we enjoyed reading spooky stories full of suspense and got to put the skills we have learnt in to our own story. After that we moved on to looking at biographies and researching our own famous person to write about – there have been a real mix of public figures. We had two DT days – making rockets and Mars Rovers. We have worked hard in our first term in 5/6 and look forward to the new challenges and learning coming up in the spring term.
