In English this month, we explored the book ‘The Firework Maker’s Daughter’ by Phillip Pullman. We planned and wrote diary entries as Lila, the lead character in the story. In the story, Lila’s father Lalchand withholds secrets from her on how to create fireworks. We explored the feelings of Lila in our diary entry, following key themes from the story.
In maths, before the half term break, we explored fractions as our topic. We created our own fraction walls and spent time exploring equivalency. After this, we continued on our theme of fractions exploring how to add and subtract using them.
Before the Spring break, we explored the Christian Easter story in RE. We explored the symbolism of the cross and made our own tissue paper crosses. We also discussed whether Good Friday was ‘good’ and what it means for Christians.
