This month, we celebrated World Book Day with a book sale in the hall where we were able to explore a vast range of books. As well as this, we held a competition in which the children had to design and create a scene from a story inside a shoebox. There were some excellent ideas and creative designs from the whole class.
In English, we have been reading ‘Atlas of Adventures’. The book is an exciting, beautifully illustrated travel book for children. We have been using video to help us immerse ourselves in some of the destinations. The class have created glossaries of technical language and wow words. We have been writing expanded noun phrases to describe events in detail, such as the migration of Monarch Butterflies across North America.
We have been doing lots of singing and dancing this month, in preparation for the Lower Key Stage 2 performance of ‘The Wind in the Willows’.
