October was a really busy month for us in Reception 1. We explored forest school and had lots of fun making patterns with leaves and sticks. We played outside and enjoyed the Autumn sunshine.
In Maths we looked at patterns and made patterns with lots of different resources. We made people patterns, shape patterns and painted patterns. We also compared lengths, heights and widths of different objects, learning how to use longer, shorter, thicker and thinner to compare them. We even looked at different scarecrows.
In English we listened to lots of amazing stories and we really enjoyed “Little Red Hen” and “Oh Dear!”. We had scarecrow week and had great fun dancing to the rhyme “I’m a Dingle Dangle Scarecrow”.
In PSHE we have been thinking about how we can help at home. The children really enjoyed jobs such as tidying the shoes, helping set or clear the table and some children even made dinner!
