As the tiny, but wonderful, world of year 5 hurtles through our universe towards the end of October, the theme of space continues to weave its way through our curriculum. The children have studied the different phases of the moon and why it is dark in one half of the Earth while it is light in the other. In History, we have looked at the “space race” between the Soviet Union and the USA. Furthermore, we have looked into the life of Neil Armstrong. In English, we are currently learning the features of an explanation text and applying them to our own incredible contraptions. Many of the children have written an explanation on a bedroom tidying robot. I am sure this is something we would all like to see in the future.
