Wheatcroft is a Community School and in-year or Reception admission arrangements are managed by Herts County Council.
For Nursery admissions 2019-2020 you need to apply directly via school.
The Nursery at Wheatcroft usually takes around 30 children in the morning session (8:45am-11:45am) and 20 in the afternoon (12:30pm-3:30pm), although this does depend on circumstances. It is housed in a bright, purpose built area attached to the main school and with its own outside area. The children also regularly have lessons in our Forest School. For more information please read our Nursery Admissions Policy (below).
Nursery admission 2019-20 for children born between 01/09/2015 to 31/08/2016
Online applications for Nursery Admissions in September 2019 have now closed. Please see below for a full timeline of the application process.
If you would like to be considered for a nursery place for the 2019-2020 academic year but have not applied online please contact the school office direct for further information.
We normally offer 15 hours per week which will consist of a mix of morning and afternoon sessions. This gives some flexibility to join two three hour sessions with an additional optional lunch club. We will also be offering some places for 30 hours on the Government free childcare scheme (https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/). We can not guarantee that we can offer everyone that applies either the 15 hours or 30 hours childcare if eligible but we will attempt to meet your needs.
Places will be offered based on the criteria in the Nursery Admissions Policy. Late applications will be considered on a first-come-first-served basis until all places are filled.
Please note that a place in the Nursery does not guarantee a place in Reception.
