October 2020 in Reception 1

We really enjoyed learning about birthdays and having a baby clinic in our home corner. We all made and wrote birthday cards and cared for the babies in our home corner.

We enjoyed reading the books Oliver’s vegetables and Pumpkin soup. We tasted vegetables and pretended to make silly soup in phonics and potions using the droppers and a cauldron.

We have been using our phonic knowledge to put rhyming words into our soup and have enjoyed trying to write words.

In maths we counted sounds and practised writing numbers as well as looking at tens frames.

We have been enjoying forest school each week and went on a treasure hunt and looked for signs of Autumn. We went on an Autumn treasure hunt and we noticed lots of leaves on the floor when we came back from half-term.

We have enjoyed watching our friendly robin sitting on our shed and singing to use as we walked to PE. We have put a bird feeder out in the forest school near our fence so we can hopefully see more birds and look after them in the winter.
