Year 6 have enjoyed a great start to the term. Miss Dienel, Mrs Carter, Mrs Milson and Mrs Standen have been very impressed with their kindness and teamwork when working in strange new circumstances. However, strange new circumstances do not mean less going on!
In Art, we have been looking at how artists portray movement. We have looked at the work of Eadweard Muybridge, an English photographer who showed movement by taking lots of photographs with small changes in between. We have also enjoyed using the pastels to see what effects we can create by blending colours together and will use this to portray movement in our next pieces.
At the start of the year, we also completed artwork to represent ourselves. We draw half our face and then filled the other half with things which represent us.
In English, we enjoyed looking at ‘Journey’ and are currently studying ‘Wisp. Both texts have produced some beautiful writing and poetry and we have enjoyed working together to share our ideas.
All in all, what a busy start to the term already but lots to be proud of!
