As a class, we have really enjoyed getting to know each other after coming back from the summer holidays. We have not all been together before and it has been lovely getting to know each other and being able to work together.
In English, we have been learning about different creatures and their habitats. We did some great art for a competition and made a lovely display for the hall. In maths, we have looked at addition and subtraction to 20 and looked at the place value of 3-digit numbers.
We have had some exciting new lessons, like Learning Outside the Classroom. We do lots of activities relating to our learning but in creative ways, and outdoors! For our first session, we created landscapes with paints, sorted different materials and explored some phonics sounds. We also got to play with some of the equipment. We are really looking forward to carrying on these sessions this half term.
We began our exciting topic on castles in history. We have learnt about Norman castles and the different parts of the castle. We learnt about the keep, bailey and motte. We found out what each of these parts are, and why they help with protecting the castle. To start the topic, we cut out simple shapes to make our own castles.
