It has been a joy seeing the children settle back brilliantly, after a restful summer break. The children have been very enthusiastic in their learning, producing high quality work to start the academic year well.
In English, we started with the whole-school topic ‘Natural Curriculum’. In this, we watched specific ‘Our Planet’ (BBC Video) which are narrated by David Attenborough. At the end of the unit, we wrote our own narration that we then read out to the class.
In Maths, we have been covering place value. We have been recognising the value of digits in three and four digit numbers, comparing numbers to 1000 and finding 10/100 more/ less than a given number. We made our own fun maze games, which help us find more and less. We have laminated them and have them to use as maths games.
In topic, we have begun learning about Ancient Egypt. We have written questions we hope to find answers to by the end of our unit.
