It has been a wonderful start to the new school term in year 5/6. The children have produced some beautiful Explorer’s guide books. These delightful explanation booklets will enhance the experience of any early Aztec explorer in their quest to build a new civilisation.
In addition, year 5/6 have enjoyed learning how the Aztecs believed the sun and water Gods were kept happy and nourished by human blood and how it was an honour to be chosen as a human sacrifice. They have written a selection of acrostic poems to display their knowledge. The children refused to believe that the modern day God of large bearded teachers is nourished by cake and chocolates!
