May 2017 in Year 3/4

This month, besides doing lots of assessments, we have been painting watercolour pictures of Mount Etna, as part of our volcanos, rocks and soils projects! We focussed our writing after Phasels Wood, on creating vivid recounts of the trip, using powerful story language to introduce our topic, and conjunctions to explain what we felt and why. In maths, we had fun planning our own holidays for the summer, we had to use our calendar skills, time knowledge, and add big amounts of money. We researched our destinations on the internet and had to work out when we needed to leave the house so that we didn’t miss our aeroplanes!
