September 2020 in Year 3

It has been a lovely month getting back in to school after such a long time off. The Year 3s have settled really well despite all the changes to routine. They are loving being back in school so that they can learn lots of new things and get to spend some time with friends.

In English we did lots of fantastic work on the book ‘Journey’ by Aaron Becker. We made a display of our lovely writing about what adventures could be awaiting behind our very own magic door. In maths we have revisited place value, regrouping and partitioning to help us with addition and rounding to the nearest ten and hundred.

We are reading ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’  by C.S. Lewis for our class novel and the children have loved predicting what may happen throughout the book. We have made a display that features some artwork based on the story as well as our predictions of what is to come. We look forward to reading the rest of the story and finding out if our predictions were right!
