December 2018 in Year 4

We have had a very busy December in Year 4 learning our Christingle songs and thinking about the true meaning of Christmas. In PSHE we gave ourselves a paper hug as we all wrote positive messages about ourselves on a piece of coloured paper and then linked them all together.

In Science we have been learning about light and shadows and we linked this to our English unit on play scripts by writing a play to act out with our shadow puppets.

In DT we have been busy designing and making a phone or notebook case. We really enjoyed sewing them.

In Geography we have still been thinking about the Vikings and the impact they have had on modern Britain, looking at the Viking settlement of York and learning about words and place names that we still use today.

Have a great Christmas and we are looking forward to our exciting topic of China in 2019.
