November has been another exciting and busy month in Year 4.
In English we have been reading The Spiderwick Chronicles and Arthur Spiderwick’s Field Guide to help us to make up a creature and then write a report about it. We really enjoyed thinking of all the tricks a Boggart could play on its’ family when they haven’t been kind! The Rotary Club came into assembly and every Year 4 pupil received a dictionary. We have been using them in our English lessons.
In Maths we have been focusing on multiplication and thinking about our 6, 7 and 9 times tables. We designed posters and learnt different ways to help us remember them. We have been continuing with our Cracking Times Table weekly challenges.
In Geography we have been learning about Rivers, particularly the River Nile. We have drawn some amazing maps and looked at photos taken from space to show the distribution of the settlements in Egypt and their proximity to the river.
Mrs Waller taught us how to tie lots of different knots and then we went up to upper forest school to use our newly learnt skills to build shelters. We had a great afternoon.
