December 2019 in Year 5

It has been a fantastic last month of 2019 in Year 5. We have been interpreting Shakespeare’s poems and writing newspaper reports in English. In Maths we have been mastering formal methods of multiplication.

One of our PE topics has been Gymnastics and we have been learning to perform counter tensions and counter balances. We finally put those together and did our best to have ‘flow’ between the counter balance and counter tension.

In History we have been finishing our topic on the Aztecs and have learnt about the fall of the Aztec Empire. As it is the run up to Christmas we have been learning about Mary in the Nativity Story and her significance.

It has been a full, busy month to end the term. All of the children deserve a rest over the holidays as they have worked very hard!
