December has flown by in a flurry of creativity in Year 5/6! It began with Aztec Day during which we played a traditional Aztec game, patolli, learnt some traditional songs and put the finishing touches on our masks.
In English we read The True Story of the Three Little Pigs and very much enjoyed acting out putting the wolf on trial for his crime. Amazingly he was found not guilty! We wrote news reports retelling the events of the trial afterwards.
In Computing we enjoyed collecting data and inputting this into databases using 2investigate. We then designing our own surveys for younger pupils to find out whether they were being safe online and analysed their results.
In Maths we developed our knowledge of shapes through completing tangrams, ancient Chinese puzzles. Children were challenged to make various different shapes such as parallelograms, trapezium and isosceles triangle using their 7 pieces. They then enjoyed creating their own festive pictures out of the shapes.
