It has been a busy and enjoyable start to 2019! In Science and PSHE we have been learning about healthy lifestyles. We have found out about the roles of the circulatory and respiratory systems and especially enjoyed measuring our pulse rate and how it changes when we exercise.
In Geography we have been finding out about rivers and how they are formed. We used atlases and our chrome books to locate some of the most famous rivers in the world. Then we selected one of these rivers to research more about and create a fact files.
In Maths we began the year developing our understanding of 2D and 3D shapes. We enjoyed the challenge of creating our own nets for cubes. More recently, we have been learning how to calculate percentages of amounts as well as developing our understanding of both short and long division.
In English we have been reading Journey to the River Sea by Eva Ibbatson. We used freeze framing to act out scenes and have written diary entries and rainforest setting descriptions using all of our senses!
